Deployment plan of small satellites from the ISS rescheduled for Oct 4

According to latest news from JAXA, deployment of the 5 CubeSats to space by the robotic arm of Kibo module on the ISS has been rescheduled for October 4. Here is the plan: First, 14h10 to 15h00: release WE WISH and RAIKO from POD #1, astronaut Akihiko Hoshide controls the robotic arm Second, 15h25 to 15h55: release TechEdSat, F-1 và FITSAT-1 from POD#2, JAXA ground station controls the robotic arm All time in UTC. F-1 is scheduled for deployment from the ISS on Sep 27

According to the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), the demonstration of small satellites deployment from the Japanese Experiment Module “Kibo” of the International Space Station (ISS) is scheduled for September 27. All 5 CubeSats are mounted in a JEM-Small Satellite Orbital Deployer (J-SSOD). In one POD are FITSAT-1, F-1 and TechEdSat in the second POD is WeWish and a scientific 2U CubeSat RAIKO. Please note that F-1 transmits telemetry beacon on 145.980MHz (1k2 AFSK) and PWM CW beacon on 437.485MHz (FM).

Launch successful, F-1 is now in orbit onboard HTV-3 transfer vehicle, heading to the ISS

At 11:06am local time (9:09am Vietnam time), the HII-B rocket successfully launched HTV-3 transfer vehicle carrying F-1 and companion CubeSats to orbit. 15 minutes after launch, HTV-3 (KOUNOTORI3) successfully separated, initiated communications with Tsukuba, establised 3-axis attitude control and completed the first phase maneuver (PM1). It is on course for docking with the International Space Station in about 5 days. Final preparation for HTV-3 launch continues; launch live broadcast URLs

At the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) of the Tanegashima Space Center (TNSC), final preparation for KOUNOTORI-3 (HTV-3) launch continues. On July 9, final inspection was performed, and no NG (Not Good) was found from the vehicle. From July 13 to 15, a rehearsal was conducted simulating the launch operation. Late access cargo loading will continue until July 19. Then the hatch will be closed, and HIIB/KOUNOTORI3 will be carried to the launch pad. Astronaut Akihiko Hoshide and ISS Expedition 32 crew successfully launched!

This morning, the ISS Expedition 32 crew Suni Williams (NASA), Yuri Malenchenko (RSA) and Aki Hoshide (JAXA) were successfully launched aboard the Soyuz TMA-05M spacecraft at 8:40 a.m. local time from Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan. One of astronaut Akihiko Hoshide’ missions is to operate the Kibo module’s robotic arm to deploy the small satellites (including F-1) to orbit, currently scheduled around September.
